Metal electrodes and semiconductors are applied to an ultra-thin plastic film to create electronic circuits only 2 micrometers thick, or one-fifth the thickness of plastic wrap, according to this article. The development by researchers at the University of Tokyo may find application in medical sensors that can be worn comfortably during daily activities.
