Amazon budgets $100M for original programming in Q3

Amazon in the third quarter will spend about $100 million on original programming as it seeks to boost video content for its Amazon Prime customers. The online retailer is trying to compete with Netflix's buzzworthy original shows, though one writer noted that the two seasons of "House of Cards" cost Netflix $100 million.
