LinkedIn launched Direct Sponsored Updates on Thursday, allowing businesses to tailor paid messages to specific audiences in a manner similar to Facebook targeting for promoted posts. The feature was tested by more than a dozen companies, including NewsCred and Comcast Business, and marks "a big step for LinkedIn monetizing the feed," LinkedIn partner James Borow said.
