Japan eyes legislation to address cyberthreats

Following a spate of high-profile attacks, Japan is looking to boost its weak cybersecurity profile with a new law that would require firms to report all breaches. The proposal, which was initiated in preparation for Japan's hosting of the 2020 Summer Olympics, would place the country's National Information Security Center at the helm of a new set of regulations designed to address widespread complacency among businesses on the issue of cybersecurity.
