Study shows caffeine effects on postmenopausal, perimenopausal women

A study in the journal Menopause found that drinking caffeine may aggravate night sweats as well as hot flashes experienced by two-thirds of postmenopausal women. The results of a survey of more than 1,800 menopausal women showed caffeine has a different effect on women in perimenopause, since caffeine could enhance their memory, mood and concentration. Researchers noted several strategies to help women manage menopause symptoms such as staying active, avoiding caffeine and maintaining a healthy weight.
