Online convention coverage returning to basics

Internet coverage of the Democratic and Republican conventions will be intense, but it's scaling back on the high-tech bells and whistles compared to the coverage four years ago. For instance, USA TODAY's Web site will not show TV-style reports this time, and absent from the Internet coverage will be gimmicks such as letting online users control 360-degree convention cameras from their homes.
