California bill could extend soda bans for schools

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger promoted legislation Monday that would encourage healthier food and drinks in California schools, and backed a bill extending the ban on soft drinks from lower grades to high schools. Such a rule has existed since 2003 for middle and elementary schools in the state, and Schwarzenegger said the bill is "critical" to help bring healthy food to young people.
