California regulations raise cost of re-roofing

New California regulations will significantly increase the cost of re-roofing a house. The regulations, put in place by the state's Energy Commission, go into effect Jan. 1, 2010. Experts say the regulations will boost the cost of replacing a typical wooden shake roof with an asphalt shingle roof from $6,520 to $8,340.
