Business owners lack capital to grow, survey shows

A majority of business owners say they lack the capital to implement their expansion plans, according to a survey by a Pepperdine University professor. Just 40% of those surveyed said they have adequate capital to support growth, the survey showed. Lenders surveyed said they turn down 90% of loans and investments secured by the real estate a company owns, while 73% of loans that would be based on a company's cash flow are rejected.
