Droid is having a big effect on Motorola, Verizon Wireless' bandwidth

The Droid has given Motorola strong hopes for its handset business, according to a Wall Street Journal report, which notes that the vendor's average phone sales price increased from $130 to $200 in the last quarter from a year earlier and that co-CEO Sanjay Jha predicts handsets will turn a profit in the fourth quarter. At Verizon Wireless, Motorola's Droid X has sparked customers to use five times more bandwidth than with other phones.
