Doug Rauch, the former president of Trader Joe's, has moved from concentrating on food sales to focusing on food waste as part of a fellowship at Harvard. To combat the 5 billion pounds of food retailers waste each year, Rauch proposes using the Postal Service, UPS and FedEx to deliver such food to food banks. In a Q-and-A, Rauch talks about why food is taken for granted and how he got his own children to eat healthy.
