Life cycle analysis evaluates products holistically

Life cycle analysis measures a product's sustainability from its conception through its expected duration. Such an analysis provides a holistic picture of a product's environmental friendliness. For example, rather than just measure the percentage of recycled materials used, a life cycle analysis will look at the harvesting of materials, processing or manufacturing, the distribution network, installation, operations and maintenance, and the potential for reuse or recycling.
