Obesity is linked to 3 major coronary risk factors, expert says

Obesity plays a role in increasing the levels of bad cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar levels, which are considered the three major risk factors for heart disease, said Dr. Vincent Bufalino, a spokesman for the American Heart Association. "In all three categories -- cholesterol, blood pressure and blood glucose -- sustained weight loss will improve those numbers," Bufalino said.
