Oklahoma airport unveils jet-capable runway

Alva Regional Airport in Alva, Okla., celebrated the construction of a 5,000-foot concrete runway with a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week. The new jet-capable runway should encourage more business jets to land at the general aviation airport, according to state officials. "Any aircraft can land here, even some commercial aircraft could land here if need be," said Victor Bird, executive director of the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission.
