Single-subject training is considered for Tenn. middle-school teachers

Tennessee's Board of Education is considering altering the way its middle-school teachers are trained and certified -- requiring teachers to be trained in one content area rather than four. Teachers are being trained in math, English, social studies and science, but in the fall, the board will consider certifying middle-school teachers to teach specific classes.
