Veterinarian crusades for better pet dental care

At the Derry Road Animal Hospital in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, veterinarian Lorraine Hiscox offers advanced dental treatments on dogs, including an Australian cattle dog she recently adopted after its owners found they couldn't afford to fix the animals dental problems. Dr. Hiscox and her team perform low-cost dental work for area animal shelters, where animals are often not adopted because of their severe and potentially pricey dental problems, she says.
