Senate bill provides GOP blueprint for energy issues

Republicans in the Senate have introduced an energy package that calls for approving construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline and drilling leases in the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska. "As we all know, there is going to be an election in 100 days or so and the American people are going to have a choice. If they choose to put Republicans in the leadership role in the White House and in the Senate, this is the plan which is the blueprint for our legislative action," said Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
