The European Central Bank says lending to households and companies in the eurozone declined 1.6% last month compared with June 2012. It is the 14th consecutive monthly drop. "The weak economy is still weighing on demand for loans, and the ECB needs to figure out how to support that," said Annalisa Piazza, an analyst at Newedge Group. "There are still substantial reasons for the ECB to maintain the current accommodative stance."
