N.C. teachers are concerned about reduced funding for education

The education budget passed Wednesday by North Carolina lawmakers promises to gradually phase out tenure, eliminates higher pay for teachers with master's degrees and includes no pay raises for teachers. The budget, which is awaiting a signature from Gov. Pat McCrory, includes five days of unpaid leave for teachers and other state employees. Teachers say they expect the budget, if approved, to harm education in the state.
