Study: Fewer investors filing class-action lawsuits

The upward movement of the stock market has helped quell lawsuits from disgruntled investors, according to a Stanford University study, which calculates 2006 is likely on pace to see a 31% year-over-year decline in these types of class-action filings. Companies also have been working to improve corporate governance, one Stanford law professor says.
