Japan's Nikkei 225 surpassed the 10,000 mark for the first time since July 1 as most share markets across the Asian-Pacific region advanced Monday. The Nikkei closed up 1.5%, while both Australia's S&P/ASX 200 and New Zealand's NZX 50 gained 1.2%. Both South Korea's Kospi Composite and Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index climbed 1.4%. Singapore's Straits Times Index advanced 1.7%, China's Shanghai Composite jumped 1.9% and Taiwan's Taiex added 0.8%.
