Bernanke: High unemployment to remain after recession ends:

The recession in the U.S. likely will end in the next few months, but joblessness will continue to be high for a while, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said while taping a television show for PBS. GDP has to expand about 2.5% to hold unemployment steady, he said. The Fed's economic forecast calls for growth to reach that level toward the end of this year.
