Detroit to cut bus attendants for children with special needs

Citing the need to cut costs, Detroit Public Schools plans to lay off 159 of 210 school bus attendants who assist students with disabilities. The cuts would save the district $5.8 million, but parents and the attendants union argue that children could suffer without the extra help and hurt themselves or others.
