Green roofs catch on in Baltimore, observers say

The green roof of Baltimore's National Aquarium has helped control rainwater runoff and reduce utility bills since it was added to the structure in 2004. Now, other buildings in the city are adding green roofs. Baltimore does not offer cash incentives for green roofs, but it does approve them as alternatives to expensive stormwater management systems. Building owners also note that green roofs help them attract and keep tenants.
