Stimulus funds help start repairs at San Diego-area GA airport

Work begins this week on a $1.4 million project to overhaul taxiways at Gillespie Field in El Cajon, Calif. The project represents one of the first in the San Diego area to result from the federal stimulus plan, and airport officials say the funds are coming not a minute too soon in helping repair the badly aged runways at the San Diego County-run general aviation airport.
