CEO expects JetBlue to benefit from industry consolidation

Dave Barger, CEO at JetBlue Airways, expects the niche airline to see increased opportunity because of the mergers of major carriers, including a potential merger between United and Continental. Barger expects some air travelers will switch to JetBlue because of the lapses in service that typically accompany large airline mergers. "If the industry ends up with, say, three network carriers [from today's five], there's going to be plenty of space for the JetBlues of the world," Barger said.
