Illinois clean-coal power plant earns federal tax credit

The federal government has issued a $417 million tax credit to Nebraska-based Tenaska to build a clean-coal power plant in central Illinois. The $3.5 billion plant is slated to become the cleanest coal-fueled commercial power plant in the U.S. The plant still requires additional approvals.
