La. creates voucher program for students with special needs

A new law in Louisiana will allow students with autism and other special needs to attend private schools using state vouchers. The law creates a two-year trial program to begin in the 2011-12 school year and involves the state's six largest school districts. The program and is designed to allow families who are dissatisfied with public schools to seek -- and afford -- a more specialized education for children who have special needs.
