Film, digital methods have same effects on retinopathy tests

Data on 310 participants with type 1 diabetes found that those who had film imaging assessments on diabetes-related retinopathy had similar outcomes as those who had digital media assessments. The findings in the Diabetes Control and Complications Trial and Epidemiology of Diabetes Interventions and Complications Study suggest that switching from film to digital imaging in retinopathy assessments need not negatively affect research.
