Critics see flaws in antitrust laws in China, India

Lawyers and business executives said China and India effectively thwart mergers and acquisitions by foreign buyers with new antitrust laws. The laws take effect in China this week and India later this year. Critics said the laws are likely to hinder global deals that will have little effect on local competition, such as a potential Microsoft-Yahoo deal.
