BlackRock fund opens PPIP investing to general public

A new fund from the huge fund manager BlackRock gives retail investors a chance to participate in, and possibly profit from, investing in distressed assets under the government's Public-Private Investment Program, commonly called PPIP. The closed-end fund will principally acquire distressed mortgage securities linked to commercial mortgages and home loans.
