Delhi Metro Rail finds 18 cracks in pillars supporting Metro

Structural audits have discovered 18 cracks on pillars that support the New Delhi Metro in India. Officials with the Delhi Metro Rail Corp. say the cracks are "hairline cracks" that are "superficial in nature." However, the company has asked an auditing firm to reassess the design of those 18 points. On July 12, pillar cracks caused a stretch of rail under construction to collapse.
