Educators take on the challenges of middle school

Educators in a Louisiana district recently discussed ways to improve success among middle-school students by overcoming challenges presented in the 21st-century classroom. "They're exposed to much more than what we were a few years ago, and the same teaching styles don't work anymore so we have to adjust, learn more to try to reach them where they are," said teacher Julye A. Collins. "It's the same message, but we need to change how we deliver it."
