Nationwide counterterrorism drill under way

The Department of Homeland Security has kicked off National Level Exercise 2009, a five-day multi-agency counterterrorism drill focused on preventing a terrorist from entering the country in the aftermath of a "terrorist event" outside of the U.S. The far-reaching effort includes federal, state, local, tribal, private sector and international partners. "Coordinating with our partners across the United States and around the world is critical to protecting the nation from terrorist attacks," DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano said.
