Palm Beach, Fla., considers smart-irrigation pilot program

Palm Beach, Fla., is considering a pilot program for smart irrigation systems to conserve water. A recent study found Palm Beach households consume an average of 1,343 gallons of water a day, more than twice the average for the county. Many residents of Palm Beach own large parcels of land with lush lawns and tend to over-water with timer-controlled sprinklers.
