Tamiflu lowers flu complications for chronically ill children

Children with asthma or other chronic medical conditions had fewer complications and hospitalizations from the flu if they were given Tamiflu soon after symptoms began, researchers reported. Study data showed children given Tamiflu had 25% fewer breathing-related illnesses and were one-third less likely to need hospitalization, compared with children who weren't given the antiviral.
