Agents ensured Jamaica travel alert didn't decrease business

Despite a two-month travel alert issued by the U.S. State Department as a result of riots in Kingston, Jamaica, travel to the country didn't suffer. "The travel agents ... all knew what was really happening in Jamaica and that it was still safe to go there. This is where our relationship with the travel industry really proved big," said John Lynch, chairman of the Jamaica Tourist Board.
