Amazon relies on Wi-Fi in its latest Kindle versions

Amazon is hoping that greater wireless options provided by its third-generation Kindle, along with the lower price, will help the e-reader offset competition from the Apple iPad. One version comes with Wi-Fi and free 3G service for $189, and the Wi-Fi-only option costs $139.
