Colorado veterinary cardiologist puts pacemakers in pets

A 3-year-old Colorado poodle that began fainting after the slightest exertion now has her heartbeat regulated with the help of a pacemaker implanted by veterinary cardiologist Janice Bright. Bright, who has performed the procedure since 1984, says animal owners depend on donations of used pacemakers, which are in shorter supply now that many are being sent to aid sick children in Third World countries.
