Students file complaint over special education in New Orleans

A group of 13 students with disabilities has filed a complaint against Louisiana's Education Department over special-education services in New Orleans schools. The group, represented by several advocacy groups, alleges that a number of charter schools failed to enroll them and that appropriate accommodations were not provided for a student who cannot see. The complaint, which enables a process mandating the parties work toward a settlement, requests an official be named to oversee special education in New Orleans.
