Study: Few have heard of location-based services

Only 4% of Internet users in the U.S. have ever used location-based applications such as those delivered by Foursquare, Loopt and Gowalla, with 84% of the respondents saying they had never heard of the service, according to a study released Tuesday by Forrester Research. But Foursquare co-founder Dennis Crowley noted, "Go back to Facebook's stats in 2005 or Twitter's stats in 2006, and you'll probably find data that tells a similar story."
