L'Oreal ads deemed too airbrushed by U.K. authority

The British Advertising Standards Authority banned ads for L'Oreal featuring photographs of Julia Roberts and Christy Turlington because of extensive digital manipulation. The government authority ruled that ads for Lancome and Maybelline cosmetics were deceptive because photo retouching was required to achieve the desired result. The ruling followed a complaint against the ads made by Member of Parliament Jo Swinson.
