Md. premiums face 25% increase next year under ACA

Maryland unveiled final premium rates for insurance policies that will be available next year in the state's health exchange. Some premiums could increase by 25% over what consumers are paying this year. The state's rate filings show that a 25-year-old can expect to pay about $120 a month for the cheapest policy available, still one of the country's least expensive. "These rates are good news for Maryland families looking to shop for plans on the Maryland Health Connection," said Maryland Health and Mental Hygiene Secretary Joshua Sharfstein.
