Rx drug-induced deaths are on the rise, CDC says

The CDC reports that U.S. deaths linked to prescription painkiller overdoses are on the rise, surpassing those tied to vehicular accidents. In 2010, the latest year for which CDC data are available, 16,500 Americans, 40% of whom were women, died because of overdoses of frequently used narcotic pain-relief drugs.
