Rx drug-induced deaths are on the rise, CDC says

CDC data show that U.S. deaths linked to prescription painkiller overdoses are increasing, surpassing those tied to vehicular accidents. The agency has recommended better tracking of overdose trends to improve understanding of the problem and has urged patients to talk with physicians about therapies other than prescription medications.
