Starbucks touts benefits of mobile, makes bigger push

Starbucks reported that mobile accounts for more than 10% of all its in-store payments, and the company is pushing further by expanding its use of Powermats for wireless smartphone charging, Darrell Etherington writes. Starbucks' Adam Brotman said in an earnings conference call, "Various digital initiatives have added demonstrable impact to our U.S. business in the third quarter" and more gains are expected.
