How much mercury is safe?

Researchers continue to debate which levels of mercury in fish are safe for consumption. While the levels are being discussed, most scientists agree women of childbearing age and young children not consume excessive quantities of fish, especially swordfish, king mackerel, shark and tilefish, as mercury poisoning can affect brain development.
