Amber Alert Web portal goes live

The Amber Alert Web portal, an online system designed to help track missing children, is being adopted by 13 states this summer, with the expectation that more states will implement the system soon. The Amber Alert system allows local law enforcement agencies to contact the state and national police when a child goes missing; the system then blankets the state with text messages and pager alerts.
