Researchers combine two drugs to lower diabetics' blood sugar levels

Combining GLP-1 with Actos appears to lower blood sugar levels in diabetics more effectively than either of the drugs used alone, according to Danish researchers in a published study. Each drug functions differently in lowering sugar levels, with GLP-1 stimulating the secretion of insulin and Actos causing cells to be more sensitive to insulin.
