Seaweed, iron wrap allows tracking of insulin-cell transplants

Scientists believe they may be able to understand why some Type I diabetics reject insulin-cell transplants as a result of success in wrapping insulin-cell transplants in seaweed and iron. The method helped them magnetically track transplants injected into the pancreas cells of mice and pigs, and researchers say they hope the research will result in reducing the need for anti-rejection drugs in people receiving transplants.
